Terms of Service

Version 2026-11-08. Effective .

These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of Portifact. They cover the hosted service at portifact.com and portifact.dev: the website, the dashboard, the command-line tool (CLI), the remote MCP server and the API. Please read them together with the Privacy Policy, which explains what data we keep, and the Acceptable Use Policy, which lists what you may not publish.

Who runs Portifact

Portifact is run by Leynier Gutiérrez González, an individual ("we", "us"). There is no company behind it yet. If a company is formed to run Portifact, it will take over the service and these terms, and we will tell you before that happens.

For questions about these terms, write to legal@portifact.com.

Accepting these terms

You accept these terms when you check the box at sign-in and create an account, or when you use Portifact in any other way. We record the version you accepted and when. If you do not agree, do not use Portifact.

Who can use Portifact

Your account and credentials

You sign in with Google, GitHub or a one-time code sent to your email. The CLI and MCP clients, such as coding agents, act on your account with tokens you approve. You are responsible for what happens with your account and with the agents and tokens you authorize, so keep your email and sign-in providers secure and revoke tokens you no longer use.

If you think someone else is using your account, tell us at privacy@portifact.com. To report a security vulnerability in Portifact, follow the security policy.

What Portifact provides

Portifact publishes static artifacts (HTML sites, Markdown and plain text) at their own address, lets you decide who can open each one, and, as it becomes available, lets the people you invite comment on them. It runs no builds, servers or databases for your content.

Your content

You keep all rights to what you publish, including files, sources and comments ("your content"). We do not claim ownership of it.

To run the service, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, back up, process, transform (for example, render Markdown as HTML), transmit and display your content, only to the people your access settings allow, and only to operate, secure and improve Portifact and to comply with the law. The license ends when your content is deleted, except for copies in backups until they expire and anything we must keep by law.

We do not use your content to train AI models, and we do not sell it.

How long artifacts stay online

Portifact is not a backup service. Keep your own copies of anything you need.

Acceptable use

You must follow the Acceptable Use Policy. It applies to everything you publish, every comment you write and every request you or your agents send to Portifact.

Reports and enforcement

Anyone can report content that breaks these terms with the report form or by writing to abuse@portifact.com. We aim to respond to reports within 48 hours.

We may remove or disable content, suspend an artifact or an account, limit features such as public sharing, or close an account, when we reasonably believe it is needed to enforce these terms, to protect people or the service, or to comply with the law. A suspended artifact shows a generic notice to visitors, and you see the reason in the dashboard. A suspended account cannot publish, and its artifacts are suspended with it; it can still sign in, export its data and delete itself. Where it is safe and lawful, we will tell you what happened and why, and you can ask us to review the decision by replying or writing to the abuse address.

If you believe content on Portifact infringes your copyright, send a notice to abuse@portifact.com that identifies the work, the address of the content, your contact details and a statement that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.

Open source

The Portifact source code is published under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0. That license governs what you can do with the code. These terms govern your use of the hosted service that we run.

Other services

Portifact runs on Cloudflare and uses Google and GitHub for sign-in when you choose them. Artifacts may load scripts, fonts or data from other sites; those sites are not under our control, and their own terms apply.

Ending your use

You can stop using Portifact at any time. Download your data and delete your account from the Account page of the dashboard; deleting needs a recent sign-in and cannot be undone. You can also write to privacy@portifact.com and we will delete your account and its content.

We may suspend or close your account as described above. If we decide to shut Portifact down, we will give at least 30 days' notice when we reasonably can, so you can download your content. The sections on your content, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, governing law and general terms continue to apply after your account ends.

Disclaimers

Portifact is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors, or that content will never be lost.

Content on Portifact is published by its users. We do not review it before it is published and we are not responsible for it.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue or goodwill, arising from your use of Portifact. Our total liability for any claim about Portifact is limited to US$50.

Some places do not allow these limits. In those places, they apply only as far as the law allows.

Indemnity

If someone brings a claim against us because of your content, your use of Portifact or your breach of these terms, you agree to cover the reasonable costs, damages and legal fees that result, to the extent the law allows.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute about these terms or Portifact will be decided by the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep any rights that the law of the country where you live gives you and that cannot be waived by contract.

This choice of law is provisional while Portifact is run by an individual. If it changes, for example when a company takes over, we will update these terms as described below.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when Portifact gains features or when the law changes. We will publish the new version on this page with a new version and effective date. When a change is significant, we will tell you in advance, and you will be asked to accept the new version the next time you sign in. If you do not agree with a new version, stop using Portifact and delete your account.
